<<< Ad agency North awarded $9 million  to “Cover Oregon” branding campaign >>>

….The Oregonian – by Allan Brettman – March 21, 2013….

Cover Oregon, the public corporation set up in 2011 to operate the state’s health insurance exchange program, has awarded a branding and communications contract to North, a Portland advertising agency.

The contract is valued at about $9 million, according to a news release. The Metropolitan Group, a public affairs agency will partner with North on the Cover Oregon contract.

In January, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services gave Oregon a $226 million grant to set up the state’s health insurance exchange program over the next two years.

The money is intended to build an online marketplace for health coverage. By 2014, individuals and small businesses will be able to use it to shop for coverage and tap federal tax credits and other assistance if they’re eligible.

The branding campaign is intended to educate and enroll Oregonians through Cover Oregon’s online marketplace.

Cover Oregon, the public corporation, chose North for the branding campaign in part because of its track record on health and wellness issues, the news release says.
